Scott Rubin has been with Plaza Companies for more than 15 years, and currently serves as the Executive Managing Director of Asset Management and as a member of the company’s Executive Council. Mr. Rubin originally joined the company to oversee the firm’s portfolio of properties developed, leased and managed in conjunction with industry partner USAA Real Estate Company.
In addition to overseeing the companies real estate services, Mr. Rubin’s portfolio of assets he directly oversees consists primarily of Class A Office and Medical Office properties, and includes 2 million square feet of space. Scott is also responsible for the underwriting and asset management decisions for Plaza Companies-owned properties. Mr. Rubin has an extensive background in commercial real estate with more than 20 years in the industry, including multiple high profile and complex multi-phased development projects.
In addition to his broad Class A Office background, Mr. Rubin is highly knowledgeable in both the retail and industrial sectors, having spent substantial time working on both property types in Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Rubin possesses strong communication and problem solving skills, and expertise in investor and broker relations, contract negotiation and management, accounting, budgeting, financial forecasting and reporting, and capital and tenant improvements. He works closely with leasing brokers and property owners in the crafting of lease terms, as well as the lease language negotiations for all new lease transactions within his portfolio, and directly negotiates all renewals and expansions with existing tenants.
A graduate of Arizona State University, Mr. Rubin spent six years as a real estate manager with Cushman & Wakefield’s Phoenix office prior to signing on to assist with property management and leasing with Plaza Companies. Mr. Rubin holds an Arizona Real Estate License, and has successfully obtained his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute.
